A Tribute to True American Heroes for Their Honor and Sacrifice to this Country
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country Singer/Songwriter, Mickey Lamantia, hailing from Cranston, Rhode Island has announced the release of his current single, “The Toast” in honor of America’s Veterans. The song is the first off his forthcoming EP, Honky Honk Confessions: Chapter Four, the fourth and final in the series of EP’s. The patriotic tune was written by Mickey Lamantia and Kyle Reagan as a tribute to True American Heroes and produced by longtime collaborator Bill McDermott and Buddy Cannon at Omni Studio in Nashville. “The Toast” is available for streaming and download on all digital music platforms here.
“”The Toast” wasn’t supposed to be the first song released off the final chapter of Honky Honk Confessions: Chapter Four, but when we heard the final master and with Veterans Day coming up we knew we had to release it” stated Mickey Lamantia. “We live in a free country because of the folks that fought and continue to fight for that very freedom. So on November 6th “The Toast” will kick things off!! God Bless this Country and the soldiers who protect it.”
“Mickey delivers a heartfelt salute on this song he and Kyle Reagan wrote in tribute to fallen American heroes and the families left behind. Listen to “The Toast,” remarked producer, Buddy Cannon.
The respect and admiration, by Mickey for our soldiers is played out perfectly in his new single “The Toast.” expressed producer Bill McDermott. “You will feel it in his delivery and in his voice that he means every word of it.”
Seems like lately all that I hear
Is how bad we have it living in fear
Some good men have died they laid down their lives
Leaving behind their children and wives
So everybody quiet down and listen to me
I wanna toast some men and their bravery
Like Desmond Doss on Hacksaw Ridge
There’s a man I could stand with
I’d like to raise my glass and drink in style
A beer for Pat Tillman a Whiskey for Chris Kyle
There’s no greater sight than the Red White and Blue
Flying high in the sky and the Eagle is too
Now I stand for the anthem out of respect
For Soldiers who died for me that I never met
The idea for “The Toast” was developed as Kyle Reagan was talking to Mickey about memorializing true American heroes in a song. Mickey always honored them during his live shows, and both agreed that Pat Tillman and Chris Kyle all deserved a song that thanked them for their honor and sacrifice to this country. Mickey developed this idea into a perfect tribute to real American heroes, and in Outlaw Country fashion wrote the line “…a beer for Pat Tillman and a whiskey for Chris Kyle.”
