“Listen To Honky Tonk Confessions: Chapter Two” Here
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Singer/Songwriter Mickey Lamantia, who has quickly made a name for himself with his unapologetically traditional country sound influenced by the outlaw country greats, just released the second installment of his “Honky Tonk Confessions” EP series.
“Honky Tonk Confessions: Chapter Two” features the Buddy Cannon/Dean Dillon song “He Likes It Fine.” The song also features background vocals from legendary producer and songwriter Buddy Cannon and his daughter singer/songwriter Melonie Cannon, who currently tours with Jamey Johnson. Buddy will also be working on production for upcoming songs, along with longtime Lamantia producer Bill McDermott.
Buddy Cannon said: “Mickey Lamantia is one of the most soulful singers I have heard in a long time. His voice brought to mind some of my country songs that had been lying around for a while with nothing happening with them. I started sending them to Mickey and he started recording them and I liked how he sang them so well that I wanted to sing harmony with Melonie on his recordings. I love what this guy is doing.”
Lamantia adds: “All I’ve ever wanted to do is make music true to the tradition created by my musical heroes. I hope the songs I write and record honor the country music I grew up loving.”
