Critically-Acclaimed Country Trio Appear In Lifestyle Magazine’s Spring Issue
AUSTIN, TX – Texas trio Midland’s sense of fashion is as retro-modern as their sound, which caught the attention of Man of Metropolis magazine. The New York-based men’s lifestyle magazine selected the band as the fashion centerpiece of its spring issue. Lead singer Mark Wystrach, bass player Cameron Duddy and guitarist Jess Carson were photographed on Duddy’s ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas, by Joshua Pestka and styled by Beth Hitchcock. The six-page spread is rare for a band whose first single – “Drinkin’ Problem” – just hit radio airwaves last week. Country radio embraced the song with open arms, notching it as one of the most added singles to station’s playlists for two consecutive weeks. The song appears on the band’s self-titled Big Machine Records EP.
Wystrach tells Man of Metropolis editor Seth Travis how the band was formed. “We all met back in our LA days thru the music scene. Jess and Cam used to have a band and after Jess left LA, Cameron and I formed a band. Midland came about when Cameron asked Jess and I to be groomsmen in his wedding for a week up in Jackson Hole over 3 years ago. That was the first time the three of us had played music together as a trio and the result was pure magic,” explains Wystrach. “The commonality was our love for Country music and for the harmonies which were such a huge part of music in the 70s and 80s…it took off from there.” Read the full feature here: https://manofmetropolis.com/
The music video for “Drinkin’ Problem” was directed by Duddy whose past directorial credits include work for Bruno Mars and Jennifer Lopez. Watch the throwback narrative here: http://smarturl.it/
