Critically-Acclaimed Trio Named New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year Ahead of April 15 Show
AUSTIN, TX – The Academy of Country Music Awards’ host, iconic entertainer Reba McEntire delivered Texas-sized news to Dripping Springs-based trio MIDLAND. Ahead of the April 15 live broadcast in Las Vegas, they have been named as New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year. Midland is the most-nominated debut artist this year with three total nods, also including Single of the Year for their GRAMMY®-nominated “Drinkin’ Problem” and Vocal Group of the Year.

Upon hearing the news, bass player Cameron Duddy said, “We’re blown away! Over the weekend, Uproxx released a new video interview and series of performances highlighting Midland’s ascent. Titled Midland’s Dazzling Success In Country Music Was Really A Slow Burn, the content showcases the trio in their homes and from the legendary Gruene Hall stage in New Braunfels, TX. Midland will return to esteemed haunt in late May to perform two sold-out shows.
Midland recently announced the April 6 release of a Spanish version of “Drinkin’ Problem” featuring Mexico’s Jay De La Cueva.
The third single, “Burn Out,” from their debut album ON THE ROCKS (Big Machine Records) will be officially released to Country radio on April 9.
