Thomas admits that due to the song’s deeply personal nature, he wasn’t sure if it would make it onto his upcoming album at first. “I wrote this one for me and I never expected to record it, much less release it as a single.” However, while trying to decide on the last couple songs to include on the record, Thomas’ producer, Tres Sasser, insisted that Adeline was a fit. “I wasn’t convinced,” Thomas confesses. “But as we began tracking things just began falling in place. With Dave Colella on drums and Tres Sasser laying down a masterful bass line, the song really began to take on an engaging groove. Michael Sharp put some beautiful piano on the track and Don Bright played my favorite guitar solo on the entire record. When my longtime friend, Weston Woodford, came in town to sing harmonies and told me Adeline was his favorite track on the record, I knew we were on to something.”
