61 Lucky Pups Wagged their Way into the Hearts & Homes
of CMA Fest Fans
Nashville, TN – “To the uninitiated, it probably sounded like dogs barking. But to me, knowing the pure joy that comes with owning a rescue dog – or eight – it was music to my ears,” said country’s favorite animal-loving superstar, Miranda Lambert, who led the mile-long MuttNation Mutt March from Nissan Stadium to Walk of Fame Park. “We were all marching on behalf of MuttNation to raise awareness for shelter pet adoption and in support of animal rescues across the country – and because it’s fun and it’s our passion” she continued. Over 1,300 animal lovers joined Miranda, Bev Lambert, and Dan & Abby Smyers, for Thursday morning’s pup-parade; including several hundred mutt-loving fans who participated from their hometowns as part of the Virtual March.
After the MuttMarch concluded at Walk of Fame Park, Bev Lambert, Miranda’s mom and MuttNation co-founder, along with MuttNation Board members, staff, volunteers, and fans headed to Xfinity Fan Fair X across the street at Music City Center where MuttNation hosted its 4th annual CMA Fest Adoption Drive. Both the MuttNation MuttMarch and Adoption Drive were presented by Tractor Supply Company.
“It is incredible to partner with people and organizations who share the same passion for shelter pet adoption,” said Phil Reiter, VP Marketing at Tractor Supply Company. “As lovers and supporters of all pets, Tractor Supply is aligned with Miranda’s vision and mission to educate the public about the importance of pet adoption, and we were thrilled to partner with her team for their annual MuttNation March and Dog Adoption Event during CMA Fest.”
Each afternoon from Thursday through Sunday, Nashville Humane Association brought 15 or more adoptable pups, all aptly named for country stars — from Alan Jackson and Emmylou to Miranda and Zach Brown. And, surpassing everyone’s expectations, by Sunday afternoon, a MuttNation adoption event record was made – 61 dogs had found new homes. “Having the opportunity to partner with MuttNation and CMA Fest’s thousands of animal-loving fans greatly increases our reach in finding homes for so many loving animals. We’re already looking forward to 2020!” said NHA Executive Director, Laura Chavarria.
2019 marks the 10th Anniversary of MuttNation Foundation. Since its inception, Miranda, Bev, and the MuttNation team have stepped up in times of natural disaster, providing millions of dollars to help rescue thousands of animals as well as supporting hundreds of shelters across the country. To help celebrate MuttNation’s 10th Anniversary, a one-of-a-kind Epiphone guitar hand-signed by Miranda is being raffled off to benefit MuttNation’s mission. Enter here:https://www.crowdrise.com/o/
