Mutts Across America Supports Shelters in Every State
NASHVILLE — Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation surprised more than 50 carefully-vetted animal shelters across the country with grants ranging from $3000-$5000. The support is given to help the shelters continue their outstanding work with rescue animals, Miranda’s primary passion outside of making music. “I am amazed and humbled by the great work these shelters do, and so honored to be able to support their critical efforts on behalf of rescue animals,” said Miranda.
The Mutts Across America program was founded by Miranda’s mom, Bev Lambert, and has cumulatively awarded over 200 shelters with more than $775,000. The MuttNation Board of Directors thoroughly researches and selects the shelters based on a range of criteria including: adoption rate, volunteerism, fiscal responsibility, community presence and other important areas of interest. Program founder, Bev Lambert adds, “The shelter selection process proved to be more complex than initially thought. During our first year we soon discovered that all shelters are not created equally. We feel we have now developed a criterion list through which we hand pick the “best of the best” shelters. Miranda and I, along with our board of directors, are honored to join forces with them in our mutual drive to benefit Mutts Across America.”
To create a total surprise for the shelters, MuttNation waits to announce the Mutts Across America recipients until the grantees have received their packages. In addition to the check and certificate, honorees are also gifted MuttNation Citizenship (https://muttnation.com/
