Famous faces and VIPs turned out at Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) Sunday night (9/10) for the world premiere of Part of the Plan, the new, original American musical featuring the music and lyrics of celebrated singer-songwriter, the late Dan Fogelberg.
Produced by K-Squared Entertainment in association with TPAC, this show marks TPAC’s first original production.
Joe Don Rooney (Rascal Flatts) with wife Tiffany Fallon, Karen Fairchild (Little Big Town), country artist Maggie Rose, Sam Palladio (Nashville) with girlfriend Chaley Rose, Alison Krauss, blues artist Casey James, Jay Buchanan (Rival Sons frontman), hit songwriter and producer Shane MacAnally, Country Music Hall of Fame songwriter Bobby Braddock, Grammy-winning songwriter Don Henry, PGA pro Brandt Snedeker, Emmy-nominated actress Brynn Thayer, and Jean Folgerberg (Dan’s wife) were among those in attendance. Nashville music and entertainment industry names included John Marks, Bonnie Garner, Skip Bishop, Leslie Fram, Neal Spielberg and Tracy Gershon, among others.
Written by Kate Atkinson and Karen Harris, Part of the Plan is directed by Tony Award-nominated director and choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett. With musical arrangements by Grammy Award winners Victor Vanacore and Laurence Juber, the production features a mix of talented performers from New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville, including Broadway’s Harley Jay and Nashville’s own J.T. Hodges.
Part of the Plan follows three turbulent decades in the lives of an adopted boy and the teenaged girl of privilege who was forced to give him up, and explores themes of love, loss, renewal, and how everything in life happens for a reason. Seamlessly interweaving the iconic music of an authentic American Troubadour, Part of the Plan brings Fogelberg’s music to a new generation.
Part of the Plan runs through Sunday, September 24, 2017. For tickets and additional information, visit the TPAC website.
