LOS ANGELES – Today’s top music artists band together for a critical mission in the television premiere of FARM AID 2016, airing Sunday, March 19, at 10pE/7pP—only on AXS TV. Filmed live at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia last September, this unforgettable “best of” concert offers an eclectic mix of established favorites and up-and-coming stars, as they perform their biggest hits and raise awareness about America’s family farmers and the good food they grow.

Highlights of the all-star concert include Farm Aid founder Willie Nelson performing his signature hit “On The Road Again” and “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die;” Neil Young’s heartfelt “Human Highway” and the harmonic “Are There Any More Real Cowboys” with Nelson; John Mellencamp’s Americana “Lawless Times” and raucous “Stones in my Passway;” Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds performing an acoustic set starting off with “Don’t Drink the Water,” segueing into “This Land is Your Land” and “Grey Street;” Alabama Shakes performing their bluesy rock hit “Future People;” and rising folk rockers Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats performing their hit single “SOB” and a rousing rendition of The Band’s classic “The Shape I’m In.”

Farm Aid attracts some of the biggest names in music as artists come together each year, at their own expense, to support and honor family farmers.

AXS TV’s program will feature the aspects of Farm Aid 2016 which engage concert-goers in the culture of agriculture: the HOMEGROWN Village, an area of hands-on food and farm activities and skill-building; HOMEGROWN Concessions®, with food from family farms; and exhibits of Farm Aid’s work with farmers and eaters from over more than 30 years. The AXS TV special will invite viewers to join with artists to support farmers and good food by making a donation to Farm Aid, with an opportunity to receive an exclusive Farm Aid T-shirt.

Farm Aid’s mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews host an annual concert to raise funds to support Farm Aid’s work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food. Since 1985, Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised more than $50 million to help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms.
