Warner Music Nashville Recording Artist Michael Ray Joins in Celebration
Launching Programs at Sunrise Health System Hospitals
Las Vegas, NV – Officials from the national nonprofit Musicians On Call, ACM Lifting Lives® and Sunrise Health System will celebrate the launch of Musicians On Call’s first ongoing Bedside Performance Program at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas on Friday, April 13 at a special event featuring a performance by Warner Music Nashville’s Michael Ray.
Last fall, Musicians On Call brought Ray and other volunteer musicians to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center to play for victims, their families, caregivers and first responders of the Route 91 tragedy. That visit inspired the Academy of Country Music’s charitable arm, ACM Lifting Lives, to earmark $150,000 endowment to start the Musicians On Call program in Las Vegas. The mission of Musicians On Call is to bring live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. Since 1999, Musicians On Call Volunteer Musicians have performed for more than 625,000 patients, families and caregivers across the country, spreading the healing power of music.
Through its Bedside Performance Programs, Musicians On Call uses music to promote and complement the healing process. These one-on-one interactions between musician and patient have a powerful effect of restoring normalcy, sharing joy and even bringing medical benefits.
