Musicians On Call Partners with Pandora, and Recording Artists Matt Nathanson, Jon Pardi, Wrabel
and More To Bring The Healing Power of Music To Veterans
Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, celebrated Veterans Day by delivering the healing power of music to Veterans, their families and caregivers in 14 VA facilities nationwide.
Musicians on Call and Pandora partnered to bring the healing power of music, with artist Matt Nathanson and Pandora Employee volunteers to the Veterans at San Francisco VA Medical Center. The partnership is a part of the Pandora Gives program, which works to unleash the infinite power of music by supporting organizations that bring music enrichment to the communities in which they operate.
Pandora also gave out 200 Amazon Fire tablets, headphones and Pandora Plus subscriptions to patients so they could enjoy the healing power of music via the Pandora app anytime in San Francisco and across the country. The donation supports MOC’s Music Pharmacy Program, which provides hospitals with customized music libraries and players and marks the first digital streaming version of the program.
In Atlanta, MOC hosted Capitol Records Nashville’s Jon Pardi, one of country music’s fastest-rising newcomers. Jon Pardi took a stop from his national Me and My Kind Tour with Kip Moore to brighten the day of Veterans by performing his #1 hit, “Head Over Boots.”
“It was an honor to spend time today with the Veterans who have given so much of their lives and time serving this country,” said Jon Pardi.
In Los Angeles, MOC welcomed Epic Records recording artist Wrabel who performed his hit “11 blocks” for patients. Special performances from local musicians in Nashville, Boston, New York, and Phoenix honored and celebrated Veterans by playing patriotic tunes as well. To date, MOC has performed for over 36,000 Veterans through its Bedside Performance Program.
