Musicians On Call (MOC), a groundbreaking nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in hospitals across the country, celebrated its kick-off in Chicago with a special celebration featuring Stoney Creek Records recording artist Lindsay Ell. The event, presented by Genentech, a member of the Roche group, was held at Joe’s Bar on Weed Street and hosted by iHeartRadio’s Big 95.5 Program Director and Mid-day On Air Talent, Steve Stewart.
The event gathered local Musicians On Call champions in Chicago to raise support and awareness ahead of launching its Bedside Performance Program. MOC Nashville Volunteer Musician, Heidi Raye, opened the show and shared her experience performing for Nashville patients. Lindsay Ell joined in sharing special moments she shared with patients while volunteering in MOC’s Bedside Performance Program and Project Playback and got the crowd rocking with her new single “Waiting on You.”
“We’re grateful for the outpouring of support by the Chicago community as we prepare to launch our newest MOC city later this year,” said Pete Griffin, Musicians On Call President. “Thanks to the support of Genentech, we will be able to bring the healing power of music to patients in Chicago.”
