Ryan Ellis and BJ McLeod Motorsports partner with Wes Cook Band
for two Xfinity races in the #99 “I Stand for the Flag” Toyota Camry
Nashville, TN – NASCAR driver, Ryan Ellis, and Country music group, the Wes Cook Band, recently announced their new partnership.
The Wes Cook Band’s song “I Stand For The Flag” caught the ears of Ellis when the band was featured last year on Fox & Friends. Nathan Stoops, Wes Cook Band manager, and Ryan’s team began to brainstorm about how to work together and this idea was formed.
The Wes Cook Band’s song “I Stand For The Flag” will serve as inspiration for a design to be featured on the #99 car for two races, Sunday June 16th, 2019 at Iowa Speedway, and Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at Road America.
“As a lifelong NASCAR fan, it is an honor to partner with Ryan and share the message of this song”, explains Wes Cook. I Stand for the Flag co-writer Nathan Stoops adds, “We wrote this song as a love letter to America – an olive branch that promotes unity and patriotism. We’re thrilled for the opportunity to spread this message to such a patriotic audience as the NASCAR fans. We know they love AMERICA, just like we do!”

Ellis will be making his 49th and 50th career NASCAR Xfinity starts at Iowa Speedway and Road America respectively in the June and August events. He has competed in 77 NASCAR events across the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Gander Outdoor Truck Series. Last year, Ellis competed with BJ McLeod Motorsports in the Road America race, sponsored by Superlite Cars and Audio Video Specialists, finishing 17th.
The band has also been preparing for the release of their new EP. The aptly titled EP, How Freedom Feels, was released on Friday, May 24, 2019, just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The Wes Cook Band is a country band from Nashville TN. A native Tennessean, Wes and the guys refer to their music style as “90’s meets now” and are releasing their debut record May 2019. With a focus on excellence in musicianship and songwriting combined with down-home personalities, the Wes Cook Band is creating their own lane in country music.

The first of the two events, the NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at Iowa, will be run Sunday, June 16th at 5:30pm with coverage on FS1 and MRN Radio. The second race, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Road America, will be run Saturday, August 24th at 3pm with coverage on NBCSN, MRN Radio, and streaming on the NBC Sports App.
