MURALS OF ALBUM ARTWORK IN PUBLIC SPACES CREATED IN SELECT CITIES
Nashville, TN — RCA Records Nashville country rockers Old Dominion and Singer Sewing Machines have joined forces to launch SEW DOMINION a special web portal dedicated to the release of Old Dominion’s new album, Happy Endings, which is available tomorrow.
Fans of both Old Dominion and sewing can visit the Sew Dominion website to enter in a sweepstakes to win Singer Sewing machines, download free templates to cross-stitch the Happy Endings album cover art along with the various individual symbols from it, and purchase special Happy Endings album bundles. Fans will also discover the story behind the first-of-its-kind album cover on the site.
Details on the SEW DOMINION sweepstakes is also found as an insert in the physical CD packaging of Happy Endings as well as being featured with four large murals of the cover art located in public spaces in Brooklyn, NY, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Nashville, TN.
Stemming from the cross-stitched cover art of Old Dominion’s Happy Endings, Old Dominion and their record label RCA Nashville approached Singer Sewing to form this special and unique partnership.
“We always try to find the perfect partners to align with for our artists’ vision surrounding an album release and when I met Singer/SVP Worldwide CEO Kevin Bush at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas, I would have never guessed there would be an obvious alignment,” says John Zarling, EVP of Marketing & New Business at Sony Music Nashville.
“However, once Old Dominion landed on their direction for the album cover, I knew we had to get Kevin, Robert Carlson and their team involved. They have been great partners and have integrated into our multi-city mural campaign, teamed with us on the build-out of SewDominion.com and anchored an online and in-package sweepstakes for the multiple generations of fans who embrace sewing and cross-stitching. It proves you never know where the perfect partnership will come from.”
Old Dominion’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, Happy Endings, releases tomorrow (August 25) via RCA Records Nashville and once again the band that NPR says to possess “first-rate craftsmanship” has tapped GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter and producer Shane McAnally to produce. McAnally also oversaw production duties on the band’s first outing, the RIAA GOLD-certified, Meat and Candy.
The new album is the band’s follow-up to their debut full length album, the RIAA Gold-certified Meat and Candy (2015). The debut album featured their PLATINUM track “Break Up With Him,” GOLD hit “Snapback,” and single “Song For Another Time,” which hit No. 1 the on Billboard Country Airplay and MediaBase charts.
