NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Apple Row Music Group is pleased to introduce its flagship artist, Parker Willingham. Willingham will introduce his debut recording project, titled YOU GET ME EVERY TIME (produced by Kate Hart), on July 7, 2017. Featuring self-penned originals and co-writes, the twelve-track offering unveils a softer side of Willingham (who describes himself as a “beach-dwelling red neck”). The easy-going, Floridian takes listeners on a revealing journey to share emotions lived in. Showcasing his “heart and soul” storylines and raw and gritty vocals, YOU GET ME EVERY TIME spotlights Willingham’s innate ability to write what he feels and he delivers with full transparency.
A natural athlete hailing from the small town of Niceville, Florida, Parker set his sights on becoming a professional baseball player. Serenading his teammates in the locker room, Parker met with jovial, yet adamant, requests from his peers to “Stop Singing;” a music career seemed unlikely for the MLB hopeful.
The potential became more brow-raising when Willingham’s sister, unbeknownst to him, signed him up for a singing competition at a local-area festival. The young talent won the competition. He laid down the baseball bat in exchange for a hand-me-down Fender guitar and moved to Music City.
Since moving to Nashville, Parker has become a Broadway “regular” performing at notable Nashville venues, nightclubs and renowned honky tonks. His talent captured the attention of “The Voice” talent scouts; Willingham appeared twice in private auditions. He signed with Apple Row Music Group in 2014.
As an early introduction to the new CD project, Willingham released two music videos (Cold Creek and All Over You) in 2016 and the title track, “You Get Me Every Time,” is ON RADIO NOW.
Featuring song titles such as “Raining Down,” “Flipside,” “All Over You” and the title track, YOU GET ME EVERY TIME is a canvas of Parker’s wit, grit, heart and soul, and offers an authentic insight to passionate, poignant, pivotal and painful pages of his life.
“Each and every song is a chapter from my life and will take the listener through the various phases of love and life to explore new love, lost love, moving on, the party, and falling in love again,” Willingham introduced.
The ballads (such as “One Kiss At A Time” and “Hard To Say”) depict the innocence and confusion of falling in love, and love at the right time, while “Chase Her Dreams” and “Me Loving You” set love free. The beachy, true-to-his roots party anthem, “Cold Creek,” celebrates a spiritual freedom and “We Got It All Right” turns the page to a forever love potential. Satisfying the traditional country music fan and the country music enthusiasts with a more flavorful palate, YOU GET ME EVERY TIME has all the right ingredients to fit the bill.
“I’m not weighted or influenced by what’s hip, popular or commercially appealing. When I write, I just let the pen and the music flow and don’t try to fit a genre mold. I like to write music because it gives life to something that did not previously exist. It just happens, that with this project, love and heartache were the catalyst,” Willingham added.
Dubbed “Nashville’s Best-Kept Secret,” Willingham is poised to change the nickname with a signature mark. YOU GET ME EVERY TIME will be available via all digital retail outlets and platforms (Spotify/Amazon/Itunes) on July 7, 2017 (Presale date June 1, 2017); Ed Gertler (Digital Delivery Services) will spearhead the digital campaign.
