NASHVILLE, Tenn. — What’s better than buying a new piece of art that you really love? Purchasing your favorite piece while also impacting the lives of thousands of Nashville pets. Pet Community Center located in East Nashville will host the 13th annual Art for Animals, sponsored by Mars Petcare, on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020. The popular yearly fundraiser will look a little different than in past years due to COVID-19. This year’s event will include a drive-thru auction preview and a live virtual gala. Attendees can register HERE.

Pet Community Center (PCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond through accessible veterinary care and support services. PCC operates a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic in East Nashville. Serving thousands of animals annually through spay/neuter surgeries and preventive veterinary services, PCC focuses on the health and well-being of animals in Nashville.

Additionally, Pet Community Center is tackling barriers to veterinary care and provides additional support to pet owners in zip codes with the highest rates of pet homelessness. The results of PCC’s work include lower pet homelessness rates, lower shelter intake and euthanasia rates, and increased access to veterinary care for pets in poverty.

Art for Animals’ drive-thru auction preview will be open from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sept. 20 at Saint David’s Episcopal Church in West Meade (6501 Pennywell Drive, Nashville, TN 37205). The preview will give attendees a chance to see the wide selection of artwork and local gifts available in the silent auction safely from their vehicles. The silent auction will otherwise be available online as in previous years.

Following the auction preview, Pet Community Center will stream a live virtual gala beginning at 6:30 PM on Sept. 20. Veteran television and radio broadcaster Suzanne Alexander will host the online event. The gala will include remarks from PCC’s President and CEO, Natalie Corwin; the presentation of the Jourdan Parenteau Excellence in Service Award to Lisa Cheek; the sale of several live auction packages by the auctioneer, Trey Morris; and several heart-warming stories from Pet Community Center clients.

In lieu of a set ticket price, Pet Community Center is asking this year’s attendees to “choose what they pay” at registration. For more information about the fundraiser and how to register, please visit HERE.
