Reunion of Professional Entertainers Recognizes Bobby Marquez Amongst Legends of Country Music
NASHVILLE, TN — The name Bobby Marquez appears on this year’s R.O.P.E. Awards Ballot with some pretty heavy-hitters in the music industry. Marquez is nominated for Songwriter of the Year, sharing the category with Bill Anderson, Rex Allen Jr., Casey Anderson, Tommy Cash, Dallas Frazier, Billy Henson, Willie Nelson, Jeannie Seely and Gene Watson.
Marquez was thrilled to receive the news, stating, “This is unbelievable. I think this organization is so important for bridging generations of music and celebrating our legends. I cannot even express how humbled I am to be listed with guys like Bill Anderson and Willie Nelson. I hope to live up to this show of confidence from these amazing folks.”
Voting is underway now. Winners will be announced October 5th at R.O.P.E.’S 30th Annual Golden Banquet at the Al Menah Shrine Temple in Nashville, Tennessee. The event will include a special tribute for Country Music Hall of Fame Member Mac Wiseman.
Bobby Marquez is currently touring and recording a new project. Western Music Hall of Fame member Rex Allen Jr. has produced two songs for Marquez, including the self-penned tribute to his late father-in-law, The Cowboy Way.
