Nashville, TN – Superstar vocal group Rascal Flatts was honored Thursday night (3/8) with the 2018 Excellence in Children’s Health Award by Vanderbilt’s Cumberland Pediatric Foundation. CPF, a Vanderbilt Medical Center-affiliated nonprofit organization located in Nashville, gives out the award each year to an individual or group that has gone above and beyond when it comes to charity work aimed at improving the lives of children. Known for their humanitarian efforts throughout their esteemed career, Rascal Flatts was commemorated in light of their inspirational work with the Rascal Flatts Pediatric Surgery Center at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, which was named in recognition of the trio’s long-standing support, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Little Kids Rock, and the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine program.
A force to be reckoned with in any genre, Rascal Flatts recently released their tenth studio album, BACK TO US (Big Machine Records), heralded by Rolling Stone as “the band is returning to their sweet spot,” as well as back-to-back chart topping singles “Yours If You Want It” and “I Like The Sound Of That.” Time and success have only put the trio closer to their core on BACK TO US, their LP that’s both a return to form and a proclamation of everything that this trio has come to represent over nearly two decades. And that’s expert musicianship, razorsharp vocals and songs that have shaped lives, loves and the genre of country music itself. Known as the best-selling country vocal group of the past decade, Rascal Flatts has sold over 23.4 million albums, over 34.3 million digital downloads worldwide, as well as earning over 40 trophies from the ACA, ACM, AMA, CMA, People’s Choice and more, also making them the most awarded country group of the past decade. With over 10 million concert tickets sold to date, the trio recently announced that they will hit the road this summer for their headlining BACK TO US TOUR with special guests Dan + Shay and Carly Pearce kicking off this June.
