Renegade Radio Nashville is teaming up with VETLINX and Vietnam Veterans as they honor all military at the 35th Anniversary Star-Spangled Salute on Sunday, October 9, 2016. This free event is open to the public and will take place 11am – 6pm CST at the Parthenon Lawn at Centennial Park (2500 West End Ave / Nashville).
Join Renegade Radio Nashville’s owner Captain Jack as the Master of Ceremonies, as they broadcast live from 4-6pm. “Our powerful voice and use of our airwaves should be used to bring awareness to Veterans concerns and issues,” says Captain Jack. “As a veteran myself, I have always supported these special events/fundraisers. We are extremely honored to be a part of this dedication to our Military.”
This family-friendly event will feature a way to connect, support and honor the military and their families. Back on October 4, 1981, there were 10,000 people that showed up at Centennial Park for a special event to honor Vietnam Veterans. VETLINX is asking the Nashville community to continue this special tribute.
This event will feature display tables from all eras of service and veteran outreach booths from local service organizations including Vietnam Veterans of America, Marine Corps League, AmVets, American Legion, VFW Posts, and many more. The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps from Washington DC will perform their routines and the traveling Vietnam Wall will be on display. Family activities will also include food trucks, skydiving team, games, prizes, crafts, a visit from the Color Guard and a patriotic salute. Live entertainment will go throughout the day and artists performing will be announced later this month.
