Country and Western Music Associations Salute Rex Allen Jr. As The Sunrise to Sunset Farewell Tour Ends
NASHVILLE, TN — Western Music Hall of Fame member Rex Allen Jr. continues to receive the gratitude of audiences who have enjoyed his family’s legacy, the music and the western heritage that he has carried with him throughout his career. Following a weekend of standing ovations at his final shows of the Sunrise to Sunset Farewell Tour in Willcox, Arizona, Rex Allen Jr. is being honored multiple times by country and western music associations.

Rex Allen Jr. will be appearing at the CMA of Texas ceremony, the Western Music Association Convention and the Academy of Western Artists Will Rogers Awards. Allen Jr. shares,” To say I’m honored is an understatement. My Dad would be so proud!”
A special spotlight will shine on Rex Allen Jr.’s song, “Where Are The Heroes” at the CMA of Texas event this month. Allen Jr. will perform the song which now takes on a whole new meaning with the tragedies and devastation making news headlines in recent months. Allen Jr. hopes to share that inspiring message with a new music video as well, which will be released soon.
The Western Music Association has been dear to the entertainers heart for many years and he is honored to sing at this year’s Crisis Fund Benefit Dinner to help out our western heroes in their time of need.
And the legendary star is thrilled to visit Fort Worth again, reuniting with his old friend Red Steagall at last year’s AWA event. From the Honky Tonks to the Western Expo, Rex Allen Jr. is honored to be included in the upcoming spring event.
Rex Allen Jr. retired from touring earlier this month, playing his final shows at the event where he first performed, Rex Allen Days in Willcox, Arizona. Allen Jr. will continue to record. His newest offering for fans is Garage Song XI: Chico, which was just released October 7th.
The album includes remakes of classics such as Four In The Morning and Ring On Her Finger. Rex Allen Jr. and his former television co-host, Lisa Stewart, reunite for their own version of his duet with Margo Smith, A Cup of Tea. Add to the mix, the Dave Loggins tune, Please Come to Boston and the Dan Seals, Bob Mc Dill penned song, Rage On. There are ten songs in all on the album which includes his childhood nickname, Chico.
