Jimmy Wayne Debuts First Episode of Kids News Channel: GOOD NEWS
Nashville, Tenn. – This week Jimmy Wayne celebrated a new sales milestone with his first children’s book Ruby The Foster Dog (Nov. 1) claiming #1 spots at Amazon including #1 Presale Title, #1 New Release and #1 Bestseller.
A creative across many formats, Jimmy also debuted the first episode of GOOD NEWS, his YouTube News Channel for Kids, this week. “I created GOOD NEWS as a fun news outlet for children. It encourages them to think good, say good, and do good. But, it’s not just for kids, it’s for anyone who is a ‘kid at heart,’” says the New York Times best-selling author and recording artist. Jimmy continues to promote Ruby The Foster Dog through speaking engagements, as the book— written for ages 8-12 — receives glowing coverage from the media.
People Magazine named Ruby a “Kid’s Pick” (Nov. 13) and Woman’s Day dedicated a full-page feature in its November issue to it noting, “Ruby teaches former foster kid Jimmy Wayne “a big lesson about love.” Nashville Parent (Dec.) says, “Wayne’s story is a gentle yet powerful reminder that there are many less fortunate than ourselves. Perhaps this month we need that reminding more than ever.”
On Nov. 17, Jimmy appeared on Fox & Friends as the book’s character, “Mr. James,” along with two furry friends from “Best Friends Animal Society,” Chico and Lux. (Watch the heartwarming clip here.)
Always advocating for children, last week Jimmy visited a group of foster children, elementary school teachers and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), in Jefferson City, Missouri at an event hosted by the state’s First Lady, Sheena Greitens.
Mrs. Greitens, along with her husband, Governor Eric Greitens, fights tirelessly for the rights of at-risk youth. “Eric and I were delighted to meet Jimmy last week,” says the First Lady. “Reading Walk to Beautiful and Ruby the Foster Dog helped me see our foster care system through the eyes of the kids in it. Jimmy’s story and advocacy for foster kids are powerful – harrowing but hopeful – and what he has to say reflects the stories of so many children struggling through the foster care system. He has shown all of us that confronting suffering can give us strength and that our own pain can give us tremendous wisdom and compassion to make life better for others.”
