Halloween EP on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and Spotify

New York, NY – Nashville singer and songwriter, Ruston Kelly, who just announced a summer tour, has teamed up with American Songwriter to premiere his video for “Black Magic.” The powerful and evocative track is the first single off Kelly’s debut EP, Halloween, which is available now via Washington Square Music.  The EP, produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, First Aid Kit, Jenny Lewis), mixes folk lyricism, grunge attitude, country heart, Americana spirit and rock energy to create his unique and haunting sound.  Check out the video for “Black Magic” here: http://bit.ly/2swHxij.  You can find tour dates below for dates with Robert Earl Keen, Colin Hay, Brandi Carlile, and John Moreland.

Kelly tells American Songwriter, “This song was an attempt to understand the devil in the wrong kind of love. An absorption into weaker parts of yourself that by some bewitching force, leave you drained and filled by a blackness. The video was meant to show this blackness… running and walking within the person who suffers from bad love.”

Kelly’s Halloween has already earned acclaim from outlets like Consequence of Sound, RELIX, Apple Music, CMT, Rolling Stone, All Access, and KCRW.  The EP has racked up over 1 million Spotify streams, while “Black Magic” was featured on the season finale of the hit CBS show Scorpion. Additionally, the Netflix original show “The Ranch” recently featured Kelly’s track “Hollywood” in its season 2 premiere.

Despite Halloween being the world’s first official introduction of Ruston Kelly as a front-man, Kelly has already garnered success in the music business, writing hit songs for Tim McGraw (“Nashville Without You”), Josh Abbott Band (“Front Row Seat”), and more.

“When people hear my songs, I want them to be affected in the way music affected me before I started doing it for a living,” Kelly states. “I want them to think, ‘Damn, that made me feel something important I didn’t know I needed to feel.'”

Kelly, who has previously toured with artists such as The Lumineers, Lee Ann Womack, Joseph, and Shakey Graves, as well playing festivals such as Bonnaroo and Stagecoach, will also be performing with Brandi Carlile next month, as well as SLOSS Music & Arts Festival.
