NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd world premiered his music video for “City Girl” with Rolling Stone Country, who one year ago named him as one of their 2016 “Artists You Need to Know” and proclaimed, “…Hurd is sought after for his diversity, something that comes through loud and clear.”
Directed by Justin Key, the “City Girl” music video was shot in Nashville but the song idea is set in Chicago, which is where Hurd was born before moving at a young age to Kalamazoo, Mich.
“I love how the video represents the moodiness of ‘City Girl’ and that the characters are never seen together,” says Hurd. “I feel like it fits how ambiguous the girl in the song is. I’m so proud to have another video out and to have a visual that is so representative of the song.”
Hurd’s songs are garnering praise for their unique style and youthful, adventurous take on life. “We Do Us,” “Love in a Bar,” and “City Girl” have been released on Spotify and collectively have received over 7.8 million streams in just four months, without national or satellite airplay. In addition, all three tracks have been included on Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist.
Ryan will hit the road on select dates with Maren Morris on her first headliner HERO tour beginning in February. Following those shows, he is on Thomas Rhett’s “Home Team Tour,” as well making his debut performance at Stage Coach.
