CCMA nominated country artist and Alberta prairie-native Ryan Lindsay has been steadily rolling out his new album, Seasons. With each season-timed release, Lindsay reveals two new songs off of the album, having already put out Fall and Winter. The third instalment of this staggered release is out now with his new digital 45 entitled Spring. Listen here.
Spring‘s A-side, “Too Soon” is an emotional song about loss. As pulsing cadence gently builds into a powerful performance, the raw and wistful vocals of the song bring out Lindsay’s character as an artist, yet the spirited timbre of the song may also take you somewhere far outside of the music in this ode to an old friend.
On the B-side is “She’s Got a New Cowboy” – a soulful country tune with a traditional flair with sorrowful lyrics paint a picture of a lover’s departure, while the emotion lies somewhere between envy and acceptance. The song is intertwined with bluegrass influences and tugs on the heartstrings in a three-quarter time feel.

A songwriter and storyteller, Lindsay has a sound that contains a clear nod towards classic country and roots music. His voice has a presence that is reminiscent of ’90s country, and his catalogue of songs include a diverse mix of instrumentation – from acoustic-driven bluegrassy ballads, to up-tempo songs with gritty Telecaster and steel guitar. Lindsay’s love for country music can make him quite the showman, and he carries a captivating energy on stage that wraps you up in story, song, and an engaging live experience. A 4x Country Music Alberta award winner, Lindsay’s previous album The Ride was nominated for Alternative Country Album of the Year at the 2021 Canadian Country Music Awards.
