Inspiring Song & Music Video is a Tribute to Ryan’s Friend
Who Battled and Survived Cancer Against All Odds
NASHVILLE, TN – Songwriter & Country Artist Ryan Weaver releases inspiring new single and Official Music Video for his new single “No Second Chance.”
The song, written by Weaver and Craig Wilson, pays tribute to Weaver’s good friend, Tony Ryan, who battled and survived oropharyngeal cancer against all odds. Tony, who stars in the music video with Ryan Weaver, had cancer in his tonsils and lymph nodes on both sides of his neck. Just a few days prior to shooting this music video, Tony had his feeding tube taken out prior to filming, then had his lymph nodes removed just days afterward.
The song describes living life to the fullest because you’re only given one shot at life — there are no second chances. Yet, Weaver acknowledges the incredible journey of his friend surviving cancer indeed allowed him a rare second chance at life. Weaver says we are not promised tomorrow so we need to live for today.
“Without sounding cliché, we only get one shot at life and this song says just that,” said Ryan Weaver. “The inspiration for this song is my great friend, Tony Ryan, who fought bravely against oropharyngeal cancer and survived. When thinking about how we could capture this in a song, we didn’t want to write something somber because Tony’s life is the true example of living like there is No Second Chance. We wrote it to not only be inspirational but wanted to create a rockin’ cross-genre country song.”
In the music video, Ryan and Tony experience their “Best Day Ever” through an imaginary app on their phones called “No Second Chance.” Ryan Weaver, a US Army Combat Veteran, flies a helicopter (he flew Blackhawks in the U.S. Army) while Tony has a blast in an airboat bow fishing. They race motocross, professional Go Karts, and Corvette Stingrays, finishing the day off doing aerobatics in the world-famous aerobatic biplane, “Big Toot.”
Both Ryan Weaver and his friend Tony Ryan say shooting this music video was truly the best day ever and they encourage everyone to live life to the fullest, because there is No Second Chance.
Weaver’s personal story is like no other artist in country music today. The son of a Marine, Weaver is a former Black Hawk Aviator, Chief Warrant Officer 3 in the United States Army who served 21 years in the military. He lost a brother in Iraq in 2004 and brother-in-law in Afghanistan in 2013, making them a Two-Time Gold Star family. Weaver understands the importance of living life to the fullest – making everyday matter. He has turned his heartache into a burning passion to succeed in the music industry, honoring his fallen brothers, all who have sacrificed, and a country that provides opportunities for everyone.
