Acoustic Session Recorded At Hank Williams Sr.’s Farmhouse
Singer/songwriter Sam Williams has released a special live performance of “The World: Alone,” a song he shared last month in honor of his late sister Katie Williams’ 28th birthday. Featuring Sam’s raw and powerful vocals, the acoustic Beechwood Hall Session draws its name from his grandfather Hank Williams Sr.’s farmhouse in Franklin, TN, where it was recorded. CMT featured the emotional, stripped-down video this morning, saying “Williams already possesses a sterling pedigree, but the ability to write from his heart feels much more personal. That much is clear in his new acoustic video.”

Sam Williams recently spoke about “The World: Alone” and his decision to honor his sister with the song on Apple Music’s Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen. As the grandson of country pioneer Hank Williams and the son of outlaw legend Hank Jr., Sam is the latest in a long line of American originals, but he is not here for the sake of tradition. He sings with his own singular voice and he writes in his own singular style, fusing gut-wrenching honesty and plainspoken poetics with raw vulnerability and deep empathy. Suffering such a sudden loss this year has been profoundly devastating for Williams, but the journey of grief and self-discovery he has found himself on has led to a deeper understanding of his purpose in life and inspired him to honor his legacy with truth and integrity.
