“Making this video was so special for us,” shares Arriaga. “Dancing is a big part of the Hispanic culture so being able to fuse that with Country music was very cool. The location, the outfits, the variety of dances, the energy, everything. It was my first time co-directing and I couldn’t be more proud with how it turned out!”
Earlier this Summer, Hollywood Life gave audiences the first listen of the song saying, “… Sammy delivers a dance banger that crosses genres to get everyone at the (metaphorical) party jumping. Singer Charlotte Sands brings a dose of divine vocal delight, while rapper Ollie Joseph adds a little grit with some hip-hop spice. Throw in a thumping bass, a bit of Latin flavor on the beat, and you have a song with something for everyone.” “Something We Can Dance To” was written by Arriaga with Aaron Scherz, Alexander Palmer and Ollvier Scott Joseph.
As “one of country music’s go-to summer anthem artists” (Sounds Like Nashville), the new tune follows a string of dynamic prior releases including “Obvious,” “Love Songs” and more, proving “he can deliver lyrics that strike right at the heart” (CelebSecrets). Additionally, he has released two EP’s, Meet in the Middle and Banjos ‘n’ Bangos, which includes the track “Just Another,” featuring Jillian Jacqueline and has accumulated over 1.3 million Spotify streams. Recently, Arriaga has joined forces with other rising Nashville influencers and musicians to form The 615 House, who chronicle their collaborations on Instagram and TikTok. Their TikTok account amassed over 1 million views in less than 24 hours (see here).
Born in Miami with Cuban roots but thriving in Nashville, Tennessee, Arriaga was raised on the eclectic beats that fill the Florida streets, but came to love the classic storytelling embedded in country music – and though it hadn’t been done in quite this way before, melding the two made perfect sense for the singer songwriter. Taste of Country said, “he’s like mid-career Kenny Chesney at times, with enough swagger to grab your attention, but not so much that he’s a turnoff.” The up-and-comer has captivated audiences across the nation having shared the stage with Brett Young, Chase Rice, Cassadee Pope, Trace Adkins and more.
