NASHVILLE, TN – Sister Hazel will host the 3rd Annual Camp Hazelnut at Camp Crystal Lake outside Gainesville, FL October 20 – 22, 2017. Over the three days around 200 campers will embark on a great exploration to discover (or rediscover!) the magic that can only be created at summer camp, and the band will be right there alongside them every step of the way, leading activities, playing acoustic campfire sing-alongs, sharing, giggling, and having a blast. The Camp’s Director, Scott Burton, and a fantastic group of his camp counselor volunteers help ensure everyone has an incredible weekend. For more information about the event click here.
Sister Hazel started Camp Hazelnut with a simple goal: create a playful, safe, uplifting experience for kids and families navigating the overwhelming challenges of a cancer diagnosis. The first two events were amazing, and the band is excited to partner again this year with Wyc Grousbeck, CEO, governor, and co-owner of the Boston Celtics, to make the event even more special for these kids and families.
Camp Hazelnut is part of the Lyrics for Life Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer. Sister Hazel frontman, Ken Block, and his band mates founded Lyrics For Life in memory of Ken’s younger brother Jeffrey, who ultimately lost his four-year battle with cancer that started at age 14. Jeffrey and his memory continue to change many lives.
