Nashville, Tenn. — Award-winning singer-songwriter and artist Skip Ewing unleashes the third song from his forthcoming Dragonfly album – “Stronger Where You’re Broken” featuring rising country star Mae Estes, out today, February 20. The upbeat and encouraging love song, written solely by Ewing, tells of the transformative power of a mending heart. “This song is a way to explore how the journey that ends up breaking us often gives us the strength we need to go on. I think we’ve all heard that the scars are stronger than the rest of the surrounding tissue,” shares Ewing. “Going through what we have to go through in relationships to grow helps us to become the person we need to be for others, and often ourselves.”

“After we had this song recorded, it was clear that it would be powerful to feature the right female artist on it,” says Ewing. “I’ve loved Mae Estes since I first met her. Her voice is beautiful, and what a heart! That shines through when she sings. I just love her, and I love her voice.”
“Skip has a reputation way bigger than Nashville for his lyricism, it is one of a kind. He is so much of the fabric of the songwriting community,” shares Estes. “It’s an absolute honor to get to have any kind of association with such a legend, and this means the world to me. This song speaks to me directly. I’ve had to work hard for everything I have. I’ve had a lot of obstacles in the way and reasons to give up. So when I first heard this song, I was like, wow, this is my story.”
The new release follows the 2025 resurgence of Ewing’s “Would If I Could” – co-written with fellow songwriting giant Dean Dillon in the 90’s – released by fellow country hitmakers ERNEST and Lainey Wilson, along with recent self-penned releases from his much anticipated Dragonfly album, including “I Want It All,” which is climbing the country radio charts, and “Say Yes,” a classic country take on the romantic moment — asking for someone’s forever love.
