NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Acclaimed songwriter and country recording artist Steve Moakler has released the 3rd track off his 7th forthcoming studio album, Make A Little Room. The song premiered exclusively with Taste of Country, where the outlet applauded how “the song’s gently rolling, acoustic-driven cadence is a perfect match for the sensitive subject matter..” Elaborating on the themes of treasuring life’s simple moments and those with whom you spend them with, Steve’s “Numbered” acts as a meaningful and important reminder to listeners that every experience adds up to something and that every hour, minute or second with those you love is something to cherish and hold close. “The idea for this song came to me one night when I found myself rushing through reading my boys a bedtime story… I was kinda hit with this conviction that these days are gonna be gone before I know it and that I want to soak ‘em up while I can,” Steve shared exclusively with Taste of Country. “The word “Numbered” came to my mind as I realized that was true for so much of life. It’s gonna be the last track on the album because it feels to me like the kind of song that credits could roll over at the end of a movie.”
With lyrics characterized by heartwarming and distinct descriptions of moments in time with his loved ones, it’s apparent that such words could only be coming from the real life experiences of a devoted father and husband. Moakler’s authenticity, vulnerability and powerful talent to intertwine these highly personal and touching moments from his life into a warm and buttery, classic country melody, is what continues to make him a fan favorite and one of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters.
The album, which will be available for purchase Friday, August 12, features co-writes with some of Nashville’s most distinguished songwriters in the genre, including Marcus Hummon (Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, The Chicks, Wynonna Judd), Neil Medley (Luke Bryan, Kid Rock, Jake Owen, Lindsay Ell), and Lucie Silvas among others. With Steve serving as a co-writer on all of the tracks, each of the 10 songs features his uncommon wisdom paired perfectly alongside rootsy rhythms and tender vocals. Fan’s have already gotten a taste of what’s in store for the highly anticipated project through the release of title track “Make A Little Room” and “Let’s Go To The Lake”, which dropped earlier this summer along with the announcement of his Make A Little Room Release Tour, set to kick off in Warrendale, Pennsylvania on August 5.
In 2014, the Pittsburgh native signed with Creative Nation and has gone on to release several critically acclaimed and autobiographical albums. The “thoughtful singer/songwriter,” as noted by Rolling Stone Country, has also penned songs performed by Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen and Ben Rector among others. His work as a songwriter has seen multiple chart success including Dierks Bentley’s song “Riser” which was RIAA certified Gold. Moakler appeared on the Grand Ole Opry stage, toured with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Old Dominion and Willie Nelson, while also forging meaningful relationships with his fans as he canvassed the country on tour. With the impending release of Make A Little Room, Steve continues to create not only reflective music for his own personal journey, but also songs that are highly relatable and effortlessly uplifting for all listeners.
