Self-Titled Debut Hits October 14, 2016
“I wanted this music to have a timeless sound and an organic feel but be fresh and new,” said Tenille. “This music feels like my music, because when I started writing these songs I wasn’t trying to sound like anyone else. I was just letting the music become whatever it wanted to be. That approach and Adam and Matt’s production really made my personality come out in the songs and created a brand new sound.”
The 22-year-old behind all of this recent attention is a quietly confident country music lover Tenille Arts (her real name) who was raised in the small Canadian prairie town of Weyburn, Saskatchawan. She picked up the guitar and penned her first song at the age of 13 and has been performing across the US and Canada at various events ever since. She made her first trip to Nashville after being discovered on her YouTube channel at 15 and immediately began honing her skills with industry elite.
She made the move to Nashville one short year ago, and a songwriting session late last year turned her life upside down in a very positive way, when she was noticed by award-winning producer Rovey (Craig Campbell, Dean Brody), songwriter/producer Wheeler and Noble Vision Music Group head Hal Oven.
Videos on her channel have led to her being the featured twice on Bob Kingsley’s nationally-syndicated Country Top 40 Countdown, and on the Woody and Jim morning show on 107.5 The River in Nashville. After stumbling onto some of her online videos, popular country website whiskeyriff.com recently labeled Tenille a “new country artist name you need to know immediately.”
Tenille will perform at an album release party at Nashville’s popular 12th & Porter venue on Thursday, October 13 at 6:00pm.
