Nashville, TN – The staggering success of iHeartMedia’s nationally syndicated The Bobby Bones Show’s St. Jude Radiothon last week, has sparked Garth Brooks to donate $20 from the sale of every copy sold of his Target exclusive boxed-set THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION until Dec. 25. Stemming from a light-hearted phone call with Bobby Bones during the charitable broadcast, and upon hearing that the event raised over $1.3 million in just one day, Brooks was inspired by the generosity of the show’s listeners to help raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“Just when I thought the Radiothon couldn’t exceed any more expectations, this happens,” said Bobby Bones. “I half-jokingly suggested that Garth sign up to donate $20 a month during the broadcast, but I never expected him to go above and beyond like this. St Jude is a really important cause for so many people, and it’s very humbling that we’re able to help inspire these acts of kindness.”
“After talking with Bobby on the show last week, I was stunned when I heard just how much money the show had raised in one day,” said Garth Brooks. “It really motivated me to get involved and see how I could try and help such an amazing cause. Hats off to Bobby and his team for putting together an inspirational broadcast that is really making a difference to a lot of people’s lives.”
Bobby Bones, dubbed by New York Times as “the biggest thing in country radio,” announced that he will take his FUNNY & ALONE STAND UP COMEDY TOUR nationwide in 2017, revealing a schedule of dates kicking off in Virginia Beach, VA on 1/13. Astonishing demand saw tickets to multiple dates sell out in minutes, prompting the addition of more shows to meet the overwhelming response. A passion project, the tour follows a handful of dates earlier this year that allowed Bones to express his quick-witted, pop-culture stacked brand of comedy. Bobby Bones’ BARES BONES: I’M NOT LONELY IF YOU’RE READING THIS BOOK (Dey Street Books) spent four weeks on New York Times Bestsellers List earlier this year, following an overwhelming debut that saw the memoir claim the No. One spot on multiple lists including USA Today and Wall Street Journal. Having broken some of country music’s freshest talent, while forging uncharted territory in his own career, Bones was recently honored by ASCAP with the “Partners In Music” Award, given to those who have shown exceptional dedication in presenting ASCAP members’ music to the public.
