Ho! Ho! Ho! Brett Eldredge announced his plans to release a Christmas album this year, posting a teasing video with a very retro-feel on his Facebook page yesterday:
Country’s Ol’ Blue Eyes can be heard singing a Frank Sinatra-esque version of the classic “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,” accompanied by the vintage sound of a big band. A quick glimpse of sheet music catches the titles of “The First Noel” and “O Holy Night,” making fans of Eldredge’s crooning voice even more excited to hear his vocals on the long notes in the chorus. The album will feature other Christmas classics and one original song, as stated by a graphic towards the end of the video.
Oh and that big band we mentioned? Well the musicians that make up the ensemble are pretty impressive, including members of Bruce Springsteen’s, Sting’s and Prince’s band.
And if the 2:13 video wasn’t enough to get you into the Christmas spirit in August – Eldredge took to SnapChat to share the news with his adorable puppy Edgar, who recently was diagnosed with a broken toe, wearing a Santa hat.
Eldredge is the latest country artist with a Christmas album coming out this year. In July, Chris Young announced his plans to release a Christmas album via a video on Facebook, which was a well-anticipated gift for his devoted fan-base. Kacey Musgraves, Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood, and Reba also have albums coming out.
