Following the exclusive title track premiere on Taste of Country
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country singer-songwriter and runner-up of Season 6 of The Voice, Jake Worthington, cruises to the Top 10 on the iTunes Country Albums chart with the release of his sophomore EP, Hell of a Highway, on Friday, May 19. Thanks to Taste of Country, fans got an early taste of the EP Thursday, with the exclusive premiere of the title track. The third track on the EP and Worthington’s latest single, “A Lot of Room to Talk,” hit #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Top 100 in April. The new EP features five tracks that explore the themes of love, loss and loneliness, making the EP a relatable listen for anyone, no matter what road he or she may be on.
The native Texan gained national media attention after winning the title of runner-up on Season 6 of the NBC hit series, The Voice, where he reached Top 20 on Billboard Heat Seekers for his renditions of Richard Marx’s “Right Here Waiting” and Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” Worthington’s first EP, which he released in October 2015, debuted at #16 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The first single off that project, “Just Keep Falling in Love,” reached Top 50 on the Music Row Chart and Top 30 on the Texas Regional Radio Report, with the music video premiering on GAC and CMT, among others. Last summer, while on his How Do You Honky Tonk Summer Tour, Worthington released the first single off the Hell of a Highway EP, which carries the same name as the tour and now lists as the first track on the collection.
