NASHVILLE, TN – Country rocker Tim Montana joined Sirius XM The Highway’s Music Row Happy Hour host Buzz Brainard last Friday (10/6) at Downtown Nashville’s Margaritaville on Broadway. Dubbed the Healing Hour in their first show back on air, the event was held in honor of the lives lost in the tragedy in Las Vegas. Montana shared, “Putting smiles back on faces that have witnessed so much tragedy, I’m honored to have been invited to perform.” Opening with his new single “Hillbilly Rich,” Montana was then joined by Mac MacAnally to perform Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’” in honor of the rock legend, along with a duet they co-wrote, “Amarula Sun,” the most played song on SiriusXM’s Margaritaville channel. Montana ended the broadcast with a crowd-pleasing cover of Katy Perry’s “Roar.”
Recently released, Montana’s official video for “Hillbilly Rich”has clocked nearly 700,000 views and has been well-received by many, including Charlie Sheen, who took to Twitter to declare the track “a stone cold masterpiece.” Starring pals Rob O’Neill (the former U.S. Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden and also attended the event on Friday) and “Streetbike” Tommy Passemante (from MTV’s Nitro Circus), Rolling Stone Country raved that the “rowdy” single video is an “outrageous…fist-pumping ode to redneck swag.”
The Butte, MT native, whose own brand of country rock defies the genre lines, continues on the road with country bad boy Wheeler Walker, Jr for his “Ol’ Wheeler” tour which began this week.
