AFP Philanthropist of The Year Teams Up With Artist Friends For 3rd Annual Concert
Nashville, TN — Recently honored by the Nashville chapter of AFP with “Philanthropist of The Year” for raising over $235,000.00 for Nashville’s homeless and hungry in years past, Tracy Lawrence is back with his 12th Annual “Mission:Possible Turkey Fry,” which benefits Nashville Rescue Mission.
Enlisting help from fellow Nashville music, sports and entertainment celebrities, as well as a host of volunteers, Lawrence will fry more than 500 donated turkeys ensuring a warm meal to create warm hearts for those less fortunate in our midst this Thanksgiving. The event has even inspired donations for other needed items for the Mission as well, including winter coats, clothing and other items.
Lawrence has inspired the Nashville community to give back and LouAna Oil is helping by donating oil for the fryers and Blue Rhino is donating all of the propane. Sam’s Club is also stepping in with financial support. The generosity of these wonderful sponsors and volunteers is what Thanksgiving is all about.
The event starts bright and early on Tuesday morning, November 21st, at Nashville Rescue Mission and will culminate with a concert at The Wildhorse Saloon which begins at 7:30pm(doors 6pm) and includes a star-studded line-up, with Luke Combs, Halfway to Hazard and more artists who are donating their time to be announced later. Tickets for the concert go on sale Friday, September 22nd at 11am and can be purchased HERE.
Lawrence raised over $135,000 for Music City’s homeless last year alone and has fried over 5,600 turkeys to provide more than 75,000 meals to the homeless and hungry of Middle Tennessee since the launch of the event in 2006. Lawrence is expanding his efforts to help the hungry and homeless across the nation, with Turkey Fry events happening this year in Dallas, TX with Dallas Rescue Mission and in Louisville, KY at Louisville Life. Spreading “Mission:Possible” nationwide is the goal for Lawrence and his team.
“It started off with me and a handful of guys …we wanted to get together and do something for the Mission. We never expected it to turn into this. We got a handful of fryers and turkeys, and came down here to cook, donated our time and do our part. It’s been amazing to watch.” -Tracy Lawrence
The country music star and nationally syndicated radio personality is gearing up for the release of his new album GOOD OLE DAYS which will be released on November 10th and features collaborators such as Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw, just to name a few.
