TUCKER BEATHARD PROVES IOWA’S KINNICK STADIUM TO BE
A “TURF BIG ENOUGH FOR TWO BEATHARDS” THIS WEEKEND
Beathard Invites Older Brother and Iowa’s Star Quarterback C.J. Beathard On Stage
During Song Penned For His Siblings
Nashville, TN – As rising singer/songwriter Tucker Beathard edges closer to notching over 200 shows this year, it could be easy to get lost in the momentum of the road. This weekend however, marked the scoring of a personal goal, as Beathard took the stage at the first-ever concert at Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium on Saturday (8/27). “For the Beathards, family is life” (ESPN) and Beathard’s performance was a full circle moment, as the venue’s day job is hosting Iowa Hawkeyes games, where his brother C.J. plays starting quarterback.
It is indisputable that “music and sports proliferate on Beathard’s family tree” (Cedar Rapids Gazette),” as Beathard played a memorable, sincere set and proved the hallowed football field to be a “turf big enough for two Beathards” (The Daily Iowan.) While performing a new track called “I’ll Take On The World With You,” co-written by Beathard about the strong bond between he and his siblings, Beathard brought his older brother and former childhood bandmate out onto the stage for an electric moment that sparked the “crowd of loudly cheering fans” even further. (Iowa City Press Citizen.) The concert, dubbed “Back Porch Revival,” was in aid of The Native Fund, a charity started by former Hawkeye Dallas Clark and actor Ashton Kutcher, from which proceeds go toward Iowans who are impacted by disasters.
“Ever since C.J. started at Iowa, playing a show at Kinnick Stadium was one of those unreachable dreams that you never think will actually come true,” said Beathard. “Our whole family lives for sports and music…it’s what bonds us together going back to my grandpa and his years in the NFL. It was awesome to be invited to the Back Porch Revival and to see those two worlds collide in front of a stadium full of people. I’ll never forget it!”
With a gift for captivating audiences from the outset with his compelling songwriting, Beathard announced on Friday that he would return to Europe for the second time this year, for a string of headlining dates kicking off in Dublin, IE on 12/3. Making his mark one new crowd at a time, Beathard will play in Milwaukee, WI this weekend (9/4) and will pick back up on Dierks Bentley’s Somewhere On A Beach Tour next weekend, with stops in Mountain View, CA (9/9), Irvine, CA (9/10) and Chula Vista, CA (9/11.) With a quiet confidence Beathard’s debut single “Rock On” has captivated country radio, taking on the Top 10, while fans continue to hit the repeat button as the track reaches over 16 million streams worldwide.
