Three-Time Grammy Award Nominee James Bay Also Joins “The Voice” on Tuesday, May 10 to Perform His Hit Song “Let It Go” and Special Guest Conner4Real Performs a Song with Coach Adam Levine From His New Film “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping”
UNIVERAL CITY, Calif. — Coach Blake Shelton will debut his new song, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” on the Monday, May 9 live episode (8 p.m. ET/PT) of NBC’s “The Voice.” The multi-award winning country music superstar will be joined by special guest and fellow “Voice” coach Gwen Stefani.This song is part of Shelton’s new album, “If I’m Honest,” which is due out May 20 and is the most personal album of his career.
“This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written or recorded,” said Shelton. “It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other. The song couldn’t possibly be more honest. I’m honored to have written and to perform this song with the great Gwen Stefani. Respect.”
Shelton’s credentials as a country music superstar are impressive and were well-established long before “The Voice” came into his life. He’s a five-time CMA Awards Male Vocalist of the Year, the reigning People’s Choice Favorite Male Country Artist, and recently hosted Nickelodeon’s “Kids Choice Awards.” His Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit, “Blake Shelton: Based on a True Story,” will be unveiled in Nashville in May and be open until November. Shelton has earned a host of other awards and nominations, including multiple Grammy nominations as well as six gold and platinum albums.
Also on the May 9 live show, the history-making RIAA Diamond-certified country duo Florida Georgia Line will perform their new single, “H.O.L.Y.,” off their highly-anticipated third studio
album, “Dig Your Roots,” due out later this summer. The lead track of the new album, “H.O.L.Y.,” echoes the heartfelt journey of the band’s career along with their personal milestones. It was written by hitmakers busbee, Nate Cyphert and William Larsen and produced by the award-winning Joey Moi.

Then on Tuesday, May 10 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT), award-winning international rock star James Bay will join the lineup at “The Voice.” Bay, who received three Grammy Award nominations this year, including Best New Artist, will perform “Let It Go” from his debut album, “Chaos and the Calm.” The album has gone Platinum in the U.K. and Canada. “Let It Go” is currently in the Top 20 at Top 40 radio and is continuing to climb the charts. Bay recently announced his fall U.S. tour, kicking off in September, which has him headlining some of his largest venues to date, including New York’s Radio City Music Hall and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
Also on Tuesday, pop superstar Conner4Real, from the new Universal comedy “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” takes the stage to perform his hit song “I’m So Humble” alongside “Voice” coach Adam Levine, who also makes an appearance in the film.
The latest comedy from producer Judd Apatow, “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” is headlined by Conner4Real, and directed by Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone from The Lonely Island trio. The film goes behind the scenes as singer/rapper Conner4Real faces a crisis in popularity after his sophomore album flops.
So far this season, “The Voice” has averaged a 3.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 14.2 million viewers overall, according to “live plus seven day” averages from Nielsen Media Research. “The Voice” ranks #1 this season among alternative series in adults 18-49 and total viewers in “most current” results for its Monday edition and continues to lead NBC to regular nightlong wins on both Monday and Tuesday nights.
