as more tour stops added due to popular demand
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Wheeler Walker Jr. set out on a mission to bring his decidedly wild and profane performances directly to the fans nationwide this summer, and in his typical over-the-top fashion, he delivered above and beyond expectation.With sold-out shows across the country, in Atlanta, D.C., Saint Paul, Costa Mesa, Portland, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, San Diego and Phoenix, the raunchy showman proved once again to be truly giving the people what they wanted.
After offending, horrifying and entertaining crowds across the country for two months, Walker took his unstoppable live spectacle to Brooklyn, Mich. last weekend to make his triumphant festival debut at Faster Horses, giving country music mainstays such as Dierks Bentley, Cole Swindell and Jon Pardi in attendance an in-your-face lesson on country music, Wheeler Walker Jr. style. He followed up his Faster Horses debut the following weekend to an exuberant crowd as seen HERE.
Walker showcases established fan-favorites from his debut album Redneck Sh*t such as “Drop ‘Em Out” and “Eatin’ P*ssy/Kickin’ Ass” as well as new classics from his June release, Ol’ Wheeler, including “Puss In Boots,” P*ssy King,” and was joined onstage by Dierks Bentley for a duet of his latest single “Summers in Kentucky,” the track that left program directors quaking and prompted Walker to declare war on country music radio. Ol’ Wheeler is produced by Dave Cobb with the same band put together by the elite producer for Redneck Sh*t. The album builds on that 2016 debut, which proved to be no novelty record, taking a deeper look at life spent misanthropically on the road and in the crosshairs of Nashville’s establishment.
“The tour has been great and I’ve loved bringing the new tunes to fans across America, except Virginia Beach, who were a bunch of assholes,” reveals Walker. “I don’t judge my music by how many albums I sell. I judge it by the amount of tits I sign on the road… and I can already tell the new album is gonna have a lot of nips…. er, hits.”
As he continues to wage war on country radio, fellow musicians and celebrities have come out in droves to pick the right side as they appear on Walker’s provocative, un-PC, and wildly popular podcast, The Wheeler Walker Jr. Podcast. Guests the likes of Bentley, Paul Cauthen, Chris Shiflett, Brandy Clark, Chris Stapleton and Bill Bur have all been featured.
Fans will have more chances to catch the “unfathomably obscene and undeniably offensive” (Rolling Stone Country) country star up close and personal on the newly announced Ol’ Wheeler Fully Extended Tour with over a dozen additional dates through Oct. 22.
