Independence Day has extra significance for Willie Nelson, who began hosting his annual 4th of July Picnic festivals in 1973. The tradition has been transformed this year, with both a virtual 4th of July Picnic and celebration of his new album First Rose of Spring, set to air over the holiday weekend on his exclusive SiriusXM channel, Willie’s Roadhouse (Ch. 59).
Originally intended for an April release, First Rose of Spring will be available on July 3. SiriusXM subscribers will be able to tune in for a special Virtual Town Hall, hosted by Willie Nelson’s daughter and SiriusXM host Paula Nelson with producer and songwriting partner Buddy Cannon. The virtual Town Hall also includes special guests Toby Keith and Randy Houser, as well as SiriusXM subscribers that were able to ask Willie Nelson questions.
