Wilson Banjo Co. Releases New Bluegrass Single “Burn Down The Fields” via Pinecastle Records

Nashville, Tenn. – Wilson Banjo Co. just dropped their brand new bluegrass single, “Burn Down The Fields,” via Pinecastle Records. Featuring lead vocals from rising artist Haven Slay, the song explores the process of letting go of what no longer serves you and making room for a new beginning. “Burn Down The Fields” is available now on all digital and streaming platforms HERE.

“‘Burn Down The Fields’ is one of those songs that reminds you sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is let the old burn away so something better has room to grow. That’s a message that really resonated with me,” says WBC founding member Steve Wilson. “Recording it was especially meaningful because it gave us the chance to collaborate with an incredible young artist, Haven Slay. I first met Haven back in 2018 when we played a series of showcases together, and even then it was obvious she had something special. Her talent was undeniable, but what impressed me just as much was her positive spirit, professionalism, and genuine love for music. Watching her continue to grow into the artist she is today has been a real joy.”

Written around the idea of clearing away the past to make space for something better, “Burn Down The Fields” uses the changing seasons as a metaphor for healing and starting over. The song was written by Alaina Stacey, Greg Crowe and Joie Scott, and features instrumental credits from Steve Wilson (banjo), Haven Slay (lead vocals), Melanie Wilson (harmony vocals), Jason Fraley (mandolin, guitar), Clay Hess (guitar), Adam Bachman (dobro) and Jaime Carter (bass). The track is the latest single from Wilson Banjo Co.’s forthcoming full-length album, which the band is currently recording in the studio.

Wilson Banjo Co. was founded by Steve Wilson, whose career has brought together his work as a musician, banjo builder, recording engineer and producer. After beginning his career in Nashville at the Gibson Custom Art Shop, Wilson returned to Upstate New York before eventually settling in South Carolina, where he established himself as a respected luthier known for his custom Wilson banjos. He launched Wilson Banjo Co. in 2014 and has earned national radio play and significant chart success along the way. The new album continues the band’s tradition of bringing together an evolving cast of musicians and collaborators while allowing the songs to guide the sound. It will also include the album’s lead single, “Heaven Is Your Hometown,” which spent 19 total weeks in the Top Ten of the Roots Music Report Contemporary Bluegrass Song Chart. The band is also currently at No. 1 on the Roots Music Report Song Chart with the 2025 anthem “If You Don’t Climb The Mountain,” a testament to the song’s continued impact.
