Slow Down is the product of King’s musical journey, having cut his teeth for years fronting an indie rock band before moving to Nashville to further hone his craft as an artist and songwriter.
Produced by Ryan Wilson, the EP showcases King’s striking vocals and unique sound which blends elements of country and indie rock, tied together by poignant lyrics. A co-writer on all six songs, King often looked to moments from his own life for inspiration when writing for the project. Exploring themes including everything from feeling gratitude for the love of one’s life to the heart-wrenching feeling of reliving the moment a relationship ended, listeners will find themselves immersed in a world of vivid imagery and raw emotion. The project kicks off an exciting chapter for King, with Country Swag remarking, “the EP is sure to make fans new and old flock to the singer in droves; however, King is showing no signs of slowing down in 2025.”

King also brought his high-energy show to Nashville venue, The Cannery, last night. The artist put on a free show in celebration of the release of his EP, leading to a thrilled, max capacity crowd.
In addition to releasing Slow Down, King will next perform at this year’s CMAFest, including a performance on the Good Molecules Reverb stage on Sunday, June 8th. He will also perform at the Ryman and BMI Block Party during CMAFest on Saturday, June 7th. Later this year, King will hit the road as an opener for both Gavin Adcock and Dylan Scott, respectively.
The singer-songwriter has had a busy year on the road, opening a show for artist ERNEST in April as well as several dates for Dylan Scott this past weekend. Since January, King has also played international dates including C2C, opened for Nate Smith on select dates for Smith’s “Through The Smoke Tour,” and toured with Vincent Mason for Mason’s “Hell Is A Dance Floor Tour.”
Pairing the reflective insight of a roots poet with the edgy intensity of raw alt-rock, Sony Music Nashville artist Zach John King is pushing country in a brand new (yet-strangely-familiar) direction – straight toward the truth, no matter where it leads.
