Five Reasons Why We Love Hillary Scott

This Nashville-born American Honey has been gracing fans with her presence in the popular country band Lady Antebellum since they hit the scene with their 2008 debut single “Love Don’t Live Here,” and recently has been making waves and receiving praise with her family band, Hillary Scott & the Scott Family. No matter what she does, it is perfection. She’s absolutely precious, and we and fans alike have embraced Hillary Scott for what makes her this week’s #WCW.

1. Her Amazing Vocals.  Scott’s organic sound is as good alone as it is when harmonizing with another.  The fluid movement from one octave to another is spot on, and she can move from a love song, rock ballad, to a church hymn with no hesitation. It also doesn’t hurt that she comes from a musical family, her mamma being country singer Linda Davis.

2. She Tweets.
And quite frequently.  In a world where most celebrities are keeping private things, well…. private,  Scott has used her Twitter for a variety of things, including an announcement on her pregnancy and an occasional tweet on the pregnancy’s progress.  She’s even tweets about her dog, Hobbs, whom we now all want to snuggle with.  Once baby Eisele was born, more tweets followed about milestones of their adorable little girl.

3. She’s Real. In today’s social world, Scott has found her way on the negative side.  After giving birth to her daughter, Scott found herself under the scrutiny of others about her “baby weight,” something a new mom would buckle under the pressure to lose it.  But not Scott. In a 2013 interview with People Magazine, Scott said “There’s so much pressure on new moms, especially who are in the public eye, to get back into shape as soon as possible, which translates to, ‘As soon as possible, look like you were never pregnant or had a baby.”  She went on to explain that with her husband and family as her support system, she doesn’t feel the need to do what the media suggests and that she has embraced who she is and that being healthy was what was important.

4. Her Strength in Herself and Her Family. When Scott, along with bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, announced the Lady A family was going to take a break, she informed her fans of a new project: a gospel album with her Scott family.  Hillary Scott & The Scott Family released Love Remains in July of 2016, and it was soon known that the Family’s first single, “Thy Will,” co-written by Scott, Emily Wiseband, and Bernie Herms, was penned following a miscarriage the singer had just endured.  A tragic event that a lot of women go through but is not spoken about as much as it should – to hear it from someone many fans (female and male) look up to, made fans feel as if they suffered with her, and allowed Scott to know she wasn’t alone.

5. Her Heart.  The love in Scott’s heart is not only unlimited for her family and friends, but also to those less fortunate. Following the 2010 catastrophic earthquake that hit Haiti, Scott made a trip to the island along with Missy and Mike Wilson which inspired MyLifeSpeaks, a charity dedicated to helping more than 500,000 orphans in the country. Scott also took part in a Stand Up For Cancer charity event this past spring which raised $42 million for cancer research, while Lady Antebellum supports many other charities including  ACM Lifting Lives, MusiCares, Musicians on Call, St. Jude, and more.
