When it was announced on March 31 that this year’s CMA Fest would not happen, it’s safe to say that while we were all heartbroken, the decision wasn’t a total shock. At that point most of the country was just starting to see Coronavirus cases (NYC was nowhere near its peak yet) so it was unknown where we would be in this pandemic in 10 weeks. The Country Music Association‘s decision to cancel the event was not only the right decision, but it was also very appreciated by members of the media and fans that the decision was made so early on, to help with canceling plans, hotels and even request a refund if you did not want to roll your tickets over to 2021.
While we are all missing the music, food and hospitality of Music City this week, having no festival to go to gives us a chance to look back at some of the amazing things that have happened at CMA Fest over the past few years. The Country Note has had the wonderful opportunity to cover the festival several times and we have compiled a photo gallery of some of our favorite moments that we caught on camera and reminisced in our recaps which you can read here: 2016, 2018, 2019.
