Last month, Dierks Bentley released his much anticipated ninth studio album titled The Mountain; the end result of Bentley’s time spent in the Colorado mountains creating this labor of love. He also enlisted his fellow tour mates Brothers Osborne for “Burning Man,” the album’s first track and second single.
“Burning Man” represents all the stages we go through in life; sometimes we’re on the right track, other times we struggle until we find the correct direction again. Things we used to do in excess, we do in moderation. You might not always get it right, but you have learned lessons so you don’t get it as wrong. It doesn’t matter what challenge faces you, you’re resilient inside. It’s a fuse of your younger self and your older self:
I always loved the highway
I just don’t run it as fast
I still go wherever the wind blows me
But I always find my way back
Bentley’s distinctive gritty voice is absolute perfection on “Burning Man”. TJ Osborne’s vocals are a pure match for the track, as Bentley and TJ convey the emotion and bring the energy to the song. John Osborne exhibits his ridiculous talent on the electric guitar for a fast-paced riff. The tempo of the single combined with the guitar riffs make “Burning Man” exceptional.
You can catch Dierks Bentley performing “Burning Man” with Brothers Osborne this summer on the Mountain High Tour. A list of all tour dates are available here https://www.dierks.com/tour. “Burning Man” is available where all digital music is sold.
