The infectious harmonies of acapella group Home Free are infiltrating playlists and causing pandemonium on social media with the release of their third studio album, Country Evolution. Chocked full of creative covers and grasping originals, the Minnesota natives (comprised of Tim Foust, Rob Lindquist, brothers Adam and Chris Rupp and Austin Brown) encompass ten years of hard work and dedication into the 14 track compilation.
Kicking off with the airy and fresh original “Summer in the Country” and closing with eloquent and touching “Serenity”, Country Evolution takes listeners on a harmonious vocal musical journey – transcending flawlessly from new music to country favorites, the quintet exemplify perfectionism and true natural talents. The Alabama band infused “Alabama Sampler” and the mash-up of Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands iconic “Fishin in the Dark” with Little Big Town‘s “Boondocks” shows the true creative genius to the band’s style, while the collaboration with the Oak Ridge Boys on “Elvira” or rendition of the Eagles “Seven Bridges Road” display their respect and enthusiasm for the classics.
“We knew it wanted this album to be half originals and half covers this time around” states bass Tim Foust to TCN. “We originally set out to put our spin on our favorite country songs and the more classic and iconic country songs out there, much like we did with “Ring of Fire”. Then as the album progressed we threw in a cover of a song that is currently on the charts now, “House Party” (Sam Hunt). And then our writing, we generated more towards that classic sound and added in a more modern sound as well. The album kind of took its own journey.” New listeners will be pleasantly surprised when seeing these guys perform, as they provide every facet of the songs vocally. No drums, no guitar, just pure vocal talent.
