Red Bow recording artist Joe Nichols will soon be adding another #1 song to his list, with his newest single “Freaks Like Me.” With an upbeat tempo, traditional country lyrics, Nichols’ signature sound is indistinguishable in the perfect title track for his upcoming ninth album.
Nichols seems unapologetic for his southern and patriotic roots on his new single. The lyrics are transparent, simple, yet represent so many hard-working American’s beliefs. Nichols makes it evident that he is not afraid to be outside the “in crowd” and “what you see is what you get”.
“‘Freaks Like Me’ is about being unapologetically proud of who you are and not worrying about being cool or what the other people think of you,” explains Nichols. “I’m a traditional guy and some people don’t think that’s necessarily cool, but that’s all right. I’m a freak to some people, but that’s who I am, and I’m proud of that.”
