Randy Houser Releases “Song Number 7” As Second Single From Fired Up

Following up his most recent single “We Went,” which earned him his third #1, Randy Houser has released his second single off Fired Up, his first album in three years.  A slower ballad, “Song Number 7” shows more of Houser’s signature vocals and softer side.

Co-written by Justin Wilson, Ben Hayslip and Chris Janson, “Song Number 7” is relatable to anyone who associates a moment in time with a specific song.  In this instance, Houser is singing about meeting a girl at a bar and each song along the way of the encounter; from the first song, to the third, and then the seventh:

Song number 7
Took me all the way to heaven that night
Song number 7
Cranked up to eleven set the mood just right
I was holding her tight
She had her hands in the air
She was falling in love and I was already there
Song number 7

As the song progresses, it becomes obvious that a relationship has blossomed between Houser and his girl, and that whenever they want to reminisce they simply just have to play their song number 7:

Every time we wanna go back
We just hit that track
Song number 7

Is it Houser’s best single? No, but fans who love his powerful voice, which is showcased in the chorus, will enjoy it nonetheless.

“Song Number 7” hit country radio on March 28 and is available on all outlets.
