It’s been awhile since Sam Hunt has soothed our souls with his R & B style tunes, but the wait is over. Nearly 3 years after his mega hit album Montevallo, Hunt first dropped an unreleased tune ‘Drinkin to Much’ on January 1. Now comes the amendment – written by Hunt, Zach Crowell (producer of track), and Shane McAnally, Hunt’s new single, ‘Body Like A Backroad,’ is a picturesque look into a man and his comparisons of his girlfriend’s body to an open road.
Showcasing Hunt’s R & B style (while never straying from his southern charm), the single indulges in impeccable harmony with a female singer – along with the constant strumming guitar and a snap like beat, their words take you through this very descriptive vision of what his intendeds body is like:
The way she fit in them blue jeans, she don’t need no belt
But I can turn them inside out, I don’t need no help
Got hips like honey, so thick and so sweet
It ain’t no curves like hers on them downtown streets.
Driving with my eyes closed/I know every curve like the back of my hand/Doing 15 in a 30/I ain’t in no hurry/ I’ma take it slow just as fast as I can
Incidentally, “15 in a 30” is a reference to Hunts upcoming tour this year, however there’s no official name or release date for his second album. But when information does become available, tour and album information can be found here or at www.samhunt.com
