With Mother’s Day approaching and folks finding creative ways to honor their moms, country music duo The Swon Brothers have most likely given the best gift – a song called “Mommas.”

Written and produced by Zach and Colton, “Mommas” is a tribute to their mom and moms all around the world.  The brothers have stated that the idea came to them during a writing session for a different song.  Their mom called and interrupted the session, leaving the two to exclaim “thank God for mommas”; thus the tune was born.

Released on May 1, “Mommas” sets up a picture like an eloquent scene in a movie of sentiments due to this rock, this center of a family.  The brothers recall memories about their own mother with lines like:

The first time I met mine she was twenty-four
She called it love at first sight it was unconditional
She dragged me to church and taught me to pray That’s just what she did

Now I’m a better man that’s better off Because of who she is

They then fall into the chorus, detailing the importance of moms:

We don’t call ‘em enough, love ‘em enough But we’d all be lost without them
We don’t thank ‘em enough, hug ‘em enough, even when they move our mountains
They’ll pick you up and dust you off
And catch the tears if they start fallin’ You better love ‘em while you got ‘em
Thank God for Mommas

“Mommas” serves as an inspirational message, leading up to a day we celebrate these strong courageous women.  With the smooth harmonies of the duo, clever writing, and perfect production, this will be a song folks will dig back into their collection to celebrate their moms for years to come.  The song’s lyric video was created with images of mothers from all around the world that fans had sent in.  Each picture is a memory, truly embracing the lyrics of this beautiful song.
